The Destroyit 2604 strip cut paper shredder showcases many of Destroyit’s greatest features in this commercial office model. The 2604 can take up to a whopping 30 sheets at a time at a rate of 30 feet per minute. The throat width is 10 1/4″ so papers of a variety of sizes will easily fit through. Its cabinet is made out of high quality wood set on casters for convenience. Inside is a pull out shred bin that can hold up to 26 gallons of shred volume inside. It houses its gears in dust proof housing. It has Destroyit’s quality hardened steel cutting shafts that shred paper clips, staples, credit cards and even CDs and come with a lifetime warranty. The 2604 has several qualities that make it such a great shredder. One is the “SPS” (Safety Protection System) which is comprised of a transparent protective shield that covers the feed opening to only let paper through. The shield is electronically controlled to quickly turn off the shredder should the shield be lifted, exposing the feed opening. In addition, the Destroyit 2604 has the “Easy Switch,” an oversized rocker switch that not only quickly reverses the feed or cuts the power off, but also has three LED-lit icons indicating the operational status of the shredder. The “ESM” (Energy Saving Mode) kicks in once the shredder is inactive for an hour, which greatly saves energy.
